10 Months

Zane you are 10 months old (I'm a few days late with this post)! I can't believe you are only two months from being one year old. You are such a big boy. 

You are feeding yourself so well now and you love everything we give you! You have tried avocado, banana, spaghetti, fettuccine, chicken, beef, a couple different soups, cheese, oranges, bread, applesauce, soft pretzel, cupcake, ice cream (your absolute favorite), and many many more things. You can't get enough food. You seem to always want to be eating it's so cute but you have started throwing temper tantrums if we won't feed you constantly, especially when we are eating! We have to work on that for sure. You love your gerber puffs and you love gerber yogurt bites. But you much prefer adult food!

You are crawling all over the place though and I can't keep up with you at all. You are permanently set on lighting speed. And you never stop going... you are always moving around. You DO NOT like to sit still for long at all... except to eat that is. You'd sit all day if it meant there'd be an endless supply of food in front of you!

You are so close to walking. Every day you test your walking skills more and more and let go to walk in between things all the time. The most steps you have taken are 3 at one time but that's so awesome! Mommy is so proud of you.

You and Zoe chase each other all around the living room and it is hilarious. I could watch you two for hours and sometimes I do. You both love each other very much. I think she has really gotten used to having you around.

Your favorite thing to do is ride around on your great-grandma's walker when we are at Grammy & Poppa's house. They sit you on it and then chase each other around the house and you just laugh and laugh. You would do it for hours and sometimes you do. You really wear your Grammy & Poppa out when you are with them but they love it too. You love your grammy so much every single time you see her you just light up and want nothing to do with me once we are with her you just want your grammy. Which is perfectly ok with me because she loves you just as much as I do and I know you are safe with her.

You are great at playing by yourself and you can play for a long time just crawling around in the living room playing with all your toys. You pull every single one out every day and then play with one toy the whole time. It's very fun for mommy every evening to have to put away toys that were never played with just thrown on the floor to be thrown on the floor. As of right now your favorite toys are your Thomas the Tank engine, your shape blocks that we stack and then you knock them over (you think it's the best game), and your little pop up toy (every time you hear one of them pop up after we've pushed or turned or toggled the switches you crawl right over to put them back down).

You love bath time. We just started letting you sit in the bathtub without sitting in the little bathtub seat. And you love it because you can splash around and move all over the place. But we have to watch you like a hawk because you try to stand up constantly and we have to force you to sit back down.

You make me laugh every single day a hundred times a day. I can't get enough of you. I love everything about you. You are just the sweetest little boy in the world. You have started to come over to me and just hug me and it melts my heart every time. You still haven't started talking yet but I think you are going to say dada first because that is the most common babble that comes out of your mouth. It makes me kind of sad but you will eventually say momma and it will be a great day in this house when you do!

I am so extremely proud to be your mommy! Your laugh is the best sound on the planet and I could listen to it for hours every day. Your growing so quickly.

You are wearing size: 18 -24 month clothes 
(You fit a few 12 month things but not many)
You wear a size 5 wide shoe (you have big feet all around)
You are 30 - 32 inches tall (you're a tall one)
You weigh 23 pounds

I feel like my heart is going to explode... with LOVE!

I am sitting here at home by myself watching the season finale of The Bachelor and for some reason it has made me just think about how much I love Zane!

I feel like my heart is literally going to explode from how much I love this tiny gift from God! He is seriously the light in my life and I can't believe that I can love someone so much like I love that little boy. He truly is the most important person in my entire life (besides James of course). I can't imagine my life without him. I went into his room a few minutes ago to just look at him. I stood there staring at him and thinking to myself how in the world do I deserve to be so dang lucky to have this perfect little being that is MINE. God has given me this most amazing gift and I get to raise him and love him and see his smiling face every single day. Sometimes when we are playing I will be sitting there watching the TV and I will look down and he will be staring at me with the hugest smile on his face (always with a binky) and it just melts my heart every time I see that. I want him to love me as much as I love him but I don't think he will ever love me as much I love him because my love grows more and more for him every single second of the day and night.

I will never take this precious gift that God has given me for granted. God has made my life complete. If I am not able to have more children (even though I would love to have more) I will never say that I didn't get what I wanted most in life because I absolutely, positively did. All my life the only 3 things I ever really wanted was to be a wife, a mom and get to stay at home mom with my child(ren) that God has given me and those dreams were fulfilled. My first one was fulfilled on June 21st, 2008 and my second & third dreams were fulfilled on May 21st, 2010 and both of those days were indescribably the most perfectly, amazingly, unforgettably best days of my entire life. I thank God every single day for Zane & James and I can't believe that he has blessed me with two such amazing men. My son is perfect in my eyes and nothing he ever does will ever change that.

I have so many big dreams for this boy that I have brought into this world. He can be a doctor or a car salesman (like his poppa) or a teacher or a police officer (like his daddy) or whatever he may choose. I will always be right beside him supporting him and helping him obtain those dreams. But the one that I want for him the most is to love God and to believe in Him and follow Him. I want to see him in Heaven with me. I have done my part and had him dedicated a few weeks ago to the Lord and that is all I can do for him, now it is all up to him. I will always love him and let him choose for himself what he wants to do but to have him love God would be the ultimate gift.

Zane - I love you so much and will always be there. Don't ever forget that your momma is here and she will do anything and everything that she can possibly do to help you grow into a great man like your father and grandfather are. So sweet little man know that I am going to love you unconditionally for the rest of your life. You truly are the best thing to ever happen to me. Thank you for who you are and for what you have done in my life even as a baby you have changed my world completely and I love you for that. I LOVE YOU more deeply than I have ever loved anyone and it just grows stronger every single second of every single minute of every single hour of every single day of every single week of every single month of every single year!

Show Us Your Life - Kids Birthday Parties

So today on Kelly's Korner for show us your life, she's doing kids birthday parties and since Zane's first Birthday is in a little over 2 1/2 months I thought it'd be fun to show you a few of the ideas that I have come up with for his birthday in pictures off the internet... We are going to do a blue & giraffe themed party probably since he already has so many giraffes that we can use as cute decorations. We are having the party here at our house so we aren't spending any money on the location and the food we are just doing finger foods.

There is just so many cute things out there for kids birthdays and it's going to be so much fun planning all of Zane's birthday parties each year.



I haven't had a lot to say lately just because we haven't done much the last 2 days. But I did take some cute pics of Zane so I thought I'd post those.

At this point he is all over the place and way faster than me sometimes. He can crawl like a bat outta heck. I can't get to him fast enough so he got my shoe in his mouth before I could get it away from him. I love watching him play by himself he's very good at keeping himself entertained and then he'll crawl over to where I am and just climb up me and say hi then he's off again to play.



Just thankful to be this sweet little man's mommy today. 

He is the "new" love of my life. 
He has changed my entire life but I couldn't be happier with the change.

He is my pride and joy and I would do anything for him. 
I CANNOT imagine my life without him now.
Every morning when I go into his room to get him up that smile and little giggle he gives me always makes my day start out perfect.

My family consists of my dad, Tom; my mom, Sally; and my brother, Tommy. But I was adopted so my family also extends out to my biological mother, Wendy; and my half-brother Devon.

My dad is the greatest dad that anyone could ask for. I love him so much and he has always worked so incredibly hard to provide for his family. He is the most generous and kind man I have ever met. My dad grew up in Colorado in the Seventh Day Adventist church and went to Walla Walla College after returning from Vietnam and met my mom. They married in 1970 when he was almost 25. We were SDA for most of my life and then when I was going into high school the church was having major break up issues so my parents decided to leave and stay with the pastor who got kicked out of the church just for being himself and I always thought that that was a wonderful thing they did for us and for the unjustness of what happened to our favorite pastor. So we are now non-denominational Christians and all of us couldn't be happier. They had fertility issues for about 12 years before they finally adopted me in 1982. I have never felt like I wasn't loved at all because my dad and mom were the most amazing parents ever. My dad owns his own business and still works extremely hard to provide for his family even though we are both grown and moved out and I am married and have my own family. He still helps us if we need it. He is definitely my hero and I will always thank him and my mom for taking me into their family and never acting like I wasn't theirs.

My mom is my best friend now. She is amazing in every way and would give anyone the shirt off her back if they needed it. She grew up Oregon and went to Walla Walla College and that's where she met my dad. She was 20 years old when they got married in 1970 and was 32 when they adopted me. She was a stay at home mom and that was the best thing in the world. I am so glad that we had that time growing up to spend with my mom. She is the sweetest, most amazing lady I have ever met and she loves God and taught me how to love Him with all my heart and trust Him no matter what. She went to work for my dad when we were both in school but was always there to pick us up from school and help us with our homework if we needed it. She never finished college but about 5 years ago she went and became a flight attendant which she absolutely loves. She has always loved to serve people so it is the perfect job for her. She was the best mom in the entire world.

My brother is 1 1/2 years younger than me and when we were growing up we were not the best of friends in any sense of the word. But since then we have become good friends. He is a great brother and is always there for me no matter what. He would do anything for anyone and is such a kind person. He makes friends wherever he goes. I love him so much and am glad that he is a part of our family.

Wendy grew up in Michigan and she was really young when she got pregnant with me. So she thought what would be best for me would be to put me up for adoption so that I could have a family that could provide the life that she couldn't. She chose my parents from their profile and flew to Oregon to have me. I met her on my 18th birthday and that was one of the best days ever. We were instant friends. We have stayed in touch over the last 10 years and I am so glad she is a part of my life. She will never take my mothers place but she will always be a friend and in my life.

Devon my half brother is 16 and a Sophomore in high school. I met him when he was 5 almost 6 and he has changed so much over the years. But he instantly fell in love with me and I with him. He wanted to be wherever I was the whole time he was there. It was awesome to have someone love me so much even with hardly knowing me. Even to this day when I am visiting or he is visiting us the world revolves around me the whole time. I think it's because he is an only child and loves that he has a sister when he's with me. He is such a good kid in so many ways. He gets good grades and is an amazing trumpet player and an absolutely fantastic artist. He is really going to go somewhere in his life because he is such a  driven individual.

My whole family so fabulous and I wouldn't trade any of them. They have made me who I am today and I thank them for that every second. I also thank God for bringing us all together. We may not be your typical family but I would never want any other family!



I just have to praise God today to have a happy, healthy baby boy! I read a blog that has prayer requests on it all the time and most of them are about children who are sick or who have died recently. It is so absolutely hard to go and read those stories but it just makes me praise God that I have a child that is healthy and doesn't have any medical issues. I am truly blessed that Z is so healthy and I just want to thank God so badly! Praise the Lord that I have a healthy baby! I cannot imagine something being wrong with my baby and not being able to do anything to help him or to lose him so suddenly you have no chance to say goodbye! He is absolutely and utterly my life and I cannot imagine it without him. I think I would completely lose my mind! I would never be the same... I think I could eventually pull myself up and move on but it would take me a VERY long time to bring myself back to normal... well whatever normal will be after that kind of tragedy. So thank you Lord for giving me a child that is healthy and happy! I truly love you for what you do for my family and me.

Fun weekend

We had a great weekend! Friday my mom and I went to the mall and did a little bit of shopping and got Zane his first pair of walkers and they are SOOOOO cute! I can't believe he is so close to walking it seems crazy to me! We also went into the new H&M and it was awesome! I got a pair of flats that are so cute and there was a ton of other stuff I'd love to have but just can't afford it right now... but I will be going back soon enough! I also got my Bare Essentuals and I love it. I can't even tell I am wearing makeup now. Love that! Then that night we went to dinner at Juan Colorado's with my parents & James met us there... Zane was so happy to see his daddy. He really misses him during the week and he doesn't understand why he's not here like he used to be and I can't explain it to him because he's not old enough to get it. But on Friday night when James gets home he freaks out and is so happy. He loves his daddy so much.

Then on Saturday we had Zane's dedication to the Lord at my old Pastor's home where he does a Bible study each Saturday morning. It was amazing to have my baby get dedicated and know that Zane is now a child of the Lord and I have done all that I can to make sure that he is saved... the rest is up to him! I hope he loves Jesus as much as his mommy does.

My pastor's wife had a plaque made with his name, the Bible Verse Numbers 6:25, the date and that he was dedicated that day on it and a picture of him. It was so cute and is such a great memento to have from that day! We will never forget this day because it was such an important one for all 3 of us.

Then on Sunday we went to church in the morning and then to our friend Mairinn's first birthday party at Poppa's Pizza Parlor. Zane loved seeing all the other little kids but he had been up since 7am that morning and he fell asleep in my arms... which he NEVER does! He is too social so he doesn't like to miss anything so he never falls asleep in public but on Sunday he did and I was soaking it up! He never cuddles with me ever because he's too busy playing and he hates to be rocked so I don't even get to rock him to sleep at night... he prefers to put himself to sleep by talking to himself. So this was a really HUGE treat for me! I couldn't have been happier.

Then James had to go back down to Salem that night... sad! I hate that he's gone all week. I miss him so much but it's going to benefit us in the long run for him to be changing over to the road instead of staying in the jail. He can promote higher and do more things if he is a patrol officer. So it will be good for us later on. I just can't wait for May 20th when he is done and back home with us! Well and the next day is Zane's 1st Birthday! So that's going to be a huge weekend for us... I can't wait.
