Show Us Your Life - Favorite Vactions

So today on Kelly's Korner she is doing Show us your life - Favorite Vacations so I thought I'd share a few of my favorite vacations.

Engagement - We went to Disneyland and while we were there James proposed to me at The Blue Bayou Restaurant in the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. It was magical seeing as I LOVE Disneyland!!

Right after he proposed to me!

Honeymoon - We went to Kona for our honeymoon and stayed in my parents time share there and it was an absolutely amazing vacation even though we had to cut it short because hubby had to go back to work.

Graduation Vacation - My parents took James and me to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico when we both graduated in 2009 from college. It was such a great trip. This is one of my absolute favorite vacation spots I have ever been! We got to swim with dolphins and it was the best thing ever!

Zane's First Vacation - My parents took all of us (brother, grammy, James, Zane, mom, dad & me) to Kona for Zane's first vacation. We had such an amazing vacation. Zane was only 4 months so he didn't really know anything but it was so much fun to have him there with us!

So those are all my favorite vacations. Hopefully soon we will be able to go on another vacation to take Zane so he can have fun!

Show Us Your Life - Reading List

Show us your life on Kelly's Korner today is about what is on your reading list. Well I have a stack of books on my nightstand to read but have I had a chance to read any of them... not really at all! Having my little one makes it VERY hard to find time to read anything! But here are the books that I have stacked up on my nightstand just begging me to pick them up and dive in!

So that is what I have on my reading list... if only I could find the time to sit down and read them I would be one happy little momma! Oh and I also need to read the Twilight series again but that will be closer to when the new movie comes out so that I am refreshed when I go see the movie.

Show Us Your Life - Mother's Day/Father's Day Ideas

On Kelly's Korner today she is doing Show Us Your Life - Mother's Day/Father's Day Ideas. I thought I'd link up to her today and tell you my ideas for what I would like on Mother's day for myself and my mom, grams, & MIL and then also my ideas for what I want to do for James for Father's day and of course something for my daddy!
Me on Mother's day 2010
So for Father's day for James we decided that he is going to get his tattoo for Zane. It is what he wants and I know it's really sentimental for him. I also would like to take him to lunch or dinner wherever he wants to go.

For my daddy I am thinking of getting him something sports related because that is what he loves! Probably something Yankees because it will be Baseball season on Father's day.

For my mom, grams, & MIL I am thinking I probably want to get them mani/pedi's because what woman doesn't love pampering?! And for a 92 year old there isn't much else they need! And my mom works 2 jobs and never has any time to herself because my grams lives with her and my dad and she can't drive so my mom is always running her around plus she does so much for us that I think she deserves some pampering! I am also going to tell my dad he should get her a day at the spa... because she needs some time to herself to relax!!!

For me I want to RELAX! Since James has been gone for the last 3 months and will be gone until the 21st of May I really need some time to myself! I love my baby and being with him 24/7 but to not have anytime at all since James has been gone it would be amazing to have some time to just relax! So I would love to have a day of pampering too! A day at the spa would be absolutely amazing! Here in Portland the best spa is Dosha and this is where I would love to be sent for the day. I have also asked James that I have Mother's day after he is back because he'll still be gone when Mother's day is so I want to be able to have my day after he is home from training!!! But on actual Mother's day I want to wake up and just hang out with my hubs and baby boy, maybe go to lunch at Mio Sushi and then go grab a few cupcakes from St. Cupcake. That is what I would love it would be perfect day!

Show Us Your Life - Kids Birthday Parties

So today on Kelly's Korner for show us your life, she's doing kids birthday parties and since Zane's first Birthday is in a little over 2 1/2 months I thought it'd be fun to show you a few of the ideas that I have come up with for his birthday in pictures off the internet... We are going to do a blue & giraffe themed party probably since he already has so many giraffes that we can use as cute decorations. We are having the party here at our house so we aren't spending any money on the location and the food we are just doing finger foods.

The adorable invites
Birthday Banner:
Giraffe print, brown, & cream paper
Blue letters
Giraffe & blue ribbon
Cake idea
Plus a small "smash" cake for Zane
Shirt choice #1
Shirt choice #2

I need help deciding which shirt to choose so if you could vote and tell me which one that would be great! Thank you! On both the shirts you can pick the color of fabric on the one.

Cookies but with Blue instead of green

Paper plates
Brown small cake plates
Brown & blue napkins
Blue cups
For favors I was thinking of getting some giraffe figure toys and some candy and putting them in little bags tied with giraffe ribbon. And of course we'll have pics of Zane from each month in frames or hanging from a ribbon on the wall.

There is just so many cute things out there for kids birthdays and it's going to be so much fun planning all of Zane's birthday parties each year.

Show Us Your Life - Your Family

I am linking up to Kelly's Korner for her Show us your life Friday on families.
My dad, mom, & grandma with Zane
Uncle Tommy & Zane
My family consists of my dad, Tom; my mom, Sally; and my brother, Tommy. But I was adopted so my family also extends out to my biological mother, Wendy; and my half-brother Devon.

Wendy, Devon & me
My dad is the greatest dad that anyone could ask for. I love him so much and he has always worked so incredibly hard to provide for his family. He is the most generous and kind man I have ever met. My dad grew up in Colorado in the Seventh Day Adventist church and went to Walla Walla College after returning from Vietnam and met my mom. They married in 1970 when he was almost 25. We were SDA for most of my life and then when I was going into high school the church was having major break up issues so my parents decided to leave and stay with the pastor who got kicked out of the church just for being himself and I always thought that that was a wonderful thing they did for us and for the unjustness of what happened to our favorite pastor. So we are now non-denominational Christians and all of us couldn't be happier. They had fertility issues for about 12 years before they finally adopted me in 1982. I have never felt like I wasn't loved at all because my dad and mom were the most amazing parents ever. My dad owns his own business and still works extremely hard to provide for his family even though we are both grown and moved out and I am married and have my own family. He still helps us if we need it. He is definitely my hero and I will always thank him and my mom for taking me into their family and never acting like I wasn't theirs.

My mom is my best friend now. She is amazing in every way and would give anyone the shirt off her back if they needed it. She grew up Oregon and went to Walla Walla College and that's where she met my dad. She was 20 years old when they got married in 1970 and was 32 when they adopted me. She was a stay at home mom and that was the best thing in the world. I am so glad that we had that time growing up to spend with my mom. She is the sweetest, most amazing lady I have ever met and she loves God and taught me how to love Him with all my heart and trust Him no matter what. She went to work for my dad when we were both in school but was always there to pick us up from school and help us with our homework if we needed it. She never finished college but about 5 years ago she went and became a flight attendant which she absolutely loves. She has always loved to serve people so it is the perfect job for her. She was the best mom in the entire world.

My brother is 1 1/2 years younger than me and when we were growing up we were not the best of friends in any sense of the word. But since then we have become good friends. He is a great brother and is always there for me no matter what. He would do anything for anyone and is such a kind person. He makes friends wherever he goes. I love him so much and am glad that he is a part of our family.

Wendy grew up in Michigan and she was really young when she got pregnant with me. So she thought what would be best for me would be to put me up for adoption so that I could have a family that could provide the life that she couldn't. She chose my parents from their profile and flew to Oregon to have me. I met her on my 18th birthday and that was one of the best days ever. We were instant friends. We have stayed in touch over the last 10 years and I am so glad she is a part of my life. She will never take my mothers place but she will always be a friend and in my life.

Devon my half brother is 16 and a Sophomore in high school. I met him when he was 5 almost 6 and he has changed so much over the years. But he instantly fell in love with me and I with him. He wanted to be wherever I was the whole time he was there. It was awesome to have someone love me so much even with hardly knowing me. Even to this day when I am visiting or he is visiting us the world revolves around me the whole time. I think it's because he is an only child and loves that he has a sister when he's with me. He is such a good kid in so many ways. He gets good grades and is an amazing trumpet player and an absolutely fantastic artist. He is really going to go somewhere in his life because he is such a  driven individual.

My whole family so fabulous and I wouldn't trade any of them. They have made me who I am today and I thank them for that every second. I also thank God for bringing us all together. We may not be your typical family but I would never want any other family!
