Confession

I have a confession to make. I wish I were on vacation somewhere tropical with a group of girlfriends! So I could lay around and actually relax. Not the kind of relaxing where I sit down and blog or watch TV but the kind where I can lay down on a chair outside in the sun and do whatever the hell I want to like read or sleep or listen to music. I don't want to have to worry about my son or my husband I just want some ME time with some good friends somewhere warm where I can hear the ocean waves and feel the sun on my skin and have a nice mango daiquiri in my hand. Anybody wanna go with me?!

Hi! I guess I should introduce myself! I am Casey Wiegand and so completely thrilled to be guest blogging today. I'm a stay at home, mama of two...in hopes of two or three more and a freelance artist. I tend to talk a lot on my blog about my perspective on life, faith, kids, marriage with touches of art, creative inspiration, projects and things I love along the way. This is me!!

I thought so much today about what I should write about! So I decided to take bits of a few of my favorite past posts and create a mini gift to you! Who doesn't love a gift after all :)?

God tends to speak the most to me while I am driving...or maybe it is just that is when I am listening best....I had a crazy summer and everything that went on in my personal life resulted in me turning to Jesus like never before, it was a whole new Jesus to me. He is real to me in a way I never imagined. It's crazy but suffering really is beautiful, it makes us lovely. 

It creates a closeness with Jesus (if you allow it to) that is like nothing else.

Ever since this summer I find myself thinking of heaven often. Have you ever heard that as believers we should preach the gospel to ourselves every morning? We know these truths but to say them out loud and to truly live them, really let them become who we are. Today I was driving thinking "It's okay that we let people down & everyone let's us down...because our hope should be elsewhere...in Jesus". Then, Carrie Underwood's song came on (I know, I am getting cheesy on you guys)...but it was exactly where my thoughts were at that moment.

This is our temporary home

It's not where we belong

Windows and rooms that we're passin' through

This is just a stop, on the way to where we're going

I'm not afraid because I know this is our

Temporary Home.

How refreshing is that to think about? We were not made for this place, but for the next. What a great hope we have. It doesn't have to be perfect here, because it will be in heaven. 

My theme word for this year is peace.

"When you decide to live out what you believe. When you decide you want peace in your possession, then you will find out what that looks like & feels like. You begin to pray for God to give you peace. You incorporate peace in your relationships. You decide to respond differently. You speak in love. Act in tenderness. You imitate what you know about peace until it becomes a reality for your character & your life."

It is so convicting. Dying to your desire. Dying to your flesh. "How can I return Your love with my life?'

"He restores what has been broken & heals what has been wounded. I don't have peace because I figured it all out. I have peace because I believe in Christ."

I will leave you all with this..

Love well, give grace & mercy well. Forgive well. Life is hard.

We don't need all the answers because we have kingdom hearts.

Feelings

On my heart.
I feel like I am slacking in life.
Slacking in being a mother,
a wife, a daughter, a sister, and everything in between!

It's like I can't get motivated do what I should be doing.
I feel like all I do is sit around.
I know that's not the case for the most part,
but I really feel like I'm not doing my job!
I've got so much to do and no time to do it in!

I am feeling guilty also,
because Mr. Sheriff works so hard
but I am at home doing nothing.
I feel I need to do something to help,
to help with income!
What can I do?

Does anyone know what I can do
but still be at home?
Can someone out there help me?

Hi! I’m Paige and I write a little blog called this little life….

I started blogging a few years ago when I became a certified Life/Career Coach. At that time my blog was entitled That’s Life and I blogged about coach-related topics: goal setting, self-improvement, careers, that kind of stuff.  I loved reading blogs and the blogs that I was attracted to were blogs written by women about motherhood and home life. So, my blog became this little life… and I started posting more personal stuff, photos of my family and my home, etc.

My husband and I live on the south shore of Long Island in a 1933 craftsman house that we have made our home over the last six years. In November 2006 we were married and welcomed our baby girl in May 2011. She has filled our lives with overwhelming joy! 


In addition to writing I enjoy the beach, decorating my home, dancing and laughing with friends and family while creating memories. The little things in life matter the most to me and it doesn't take a heck of a lot to make me happy! I am so excited to embark on the journey that is motherhood and look forward to connecting with awesome people I "meet" in the blog world.

On EXTRA special nights...I go on dates with my hubs.

(those nights aren't often enough with 4 boys needing a sitter)

Normal nights, we "date in". I like normal nights too.

It’s not the most glamorous life. But it’s mine and I wouldn’t change a thing!

Granted, It’s not easy getting my “girly” on in the boy filled world I live in.
