Blogger biggest loser challenge :: week #3

TheJavaMama

I thought this week I'd share my story of how I got to the weight I am at now.
I was really tiny in elementary school and I was a size 4 all throughout high school.
It really began in college...
I gained the cliche freshman fifteen but it was actually more like twenty to twenty-five
and my weight fluctuated for the next 5 years.
I met my husband in 2007 and a few months later was engaged.
I vowed to lose weight for the wedding to look amazing on my wedding day in my dress...
well I worked my a$$ off!
I got myself down to 130 pounds for the wedding and I was so proud of myself.
I was down to the lowest weight I'd been, in years!
Well then I was married & well I gained all that weight back and more.
Then I got pregnant with Zane and I gained 30 pounds and was 199 when I had him.
I lost all 30 pounds after I had him and then I did the HCG diet
and I lost 25 more pounds on that diet.
Then I got pregnant with Lilah...
I gained about 35 pounds with her and I have lost all the weight that I gained with her
and that's where I am at today.
158.4.
I am still on Weight Watchers and I am going to continue it but I need to now get off my big ole booty and start working out on top of that.
So starting on Monday I am going to start the 30 day shred again.
I am officially cleared by all my doctors to start working out.
I am so looking forward to not being mistaken for a pregnant lady anymore.

fashion friday

I have been trying to build my basic wardrobe with the clothing that I consider essential to a good versatile wardrobe.
These are some of the basics that I have bought over the last year or so.
They're not the exact items I bought but pieces I found on polyvore to use for this.
I am happy with where my wardrobe is starting to go...
I am really trying to have basics so I can make many different easy go to outfits.
Because since I've become a mom I've found it hard to look cute but with these basics on hand I know I can make many different simple & cute outfits.
So for me this has been important to me to begin building up my wardrobe...
especially since I turned 30 this past year
and don't want to dress like a teenager anymore and look like the adult that I am.

These items are all so versatile...
 you can make so many different outfits from these items.
I am really looking forward to really diving into the world of fashion
and learning how to mix & match basic pieces to create many different outfits.
I still need to go through my closet & get rid of all the stuff I know I will not wear anymore.
My closet is overly packed full of this kind of stuff & in desperate need of weeding out the stuff I don't wear or doesn't fit my style anymore.

Lilah's Birth Story

 photo DSC_1753_zps2bbc349f.jpg

Lilah Maye
Born November 2nd, 2012
At 12:34 PM via C-Section
7 pounds 6 ounces
21 inches

I had a much easier pregnancy with Lilah then I did with Zane.
I did have morning sickness but only for about the first 14 weeks thank goodness!
After that I only had horrible back pain from her.
She was in a nasty position on my back and it made things very difficult and it got tired very quickly.
I knew that I was most likely going to end up with a c-section because I had had one with Zane.
But I was actually hoping I could have a VBAC {vaginal birth after c-section} for most of my pregnancy because I really wanted to experience giving birth.
I was due on November 8th, 2012 and
we had a c-section set up for November 15th, 2012 and after many,
many months of being in so much pain I told my doctor I didn't want to wait until a week after my due date for the c-section I wanted to do it as early as I possibly could.
So we set up an appointment for the c-section on November 2nd, 2012 at 12:00 PM.
I was so excited to know that she would be here on that day and no later!

Photobucket

So on the morning of November 2nd we had to be there at 10:00 AM.
I got up and took a shower and got ready for the day and we had to get Zane to my parents house by 9:30 AM so that we'd get to the hospital on time.
We got to the hospital and checked in.
{we know the birthing coordinator so she had set us up real nice in the biggest labor & delivery room and got us my favorite nurse who had to leave in the middle of my labor with Zane}
so we were really excited to go into this birth.
{not that we weren't with Zane, we just knew exactly what was going to happen!}
So Trish
{our favorite nurse}
got us all set up and asked us all the routine questions.
I was so excited.
I knew that I was going to meet that sweet little lady in a couple hours
and I also started getting extremely nervous.
{I mean who doesn't when they go have surgery?!}
They hooked me up to the monitor so that they could monitor Lilah's heartbeat
and about an hour before I was going in Trish mentioned to me that I was having contractions...
well I knew I was having them,
they were getting pretty intense and they were coming consistently...
so basically I was in labor as I was getting ready to go have my c-section.
My doctor came into the room about 10 minutes before they took me into the operating room to just put me at ease.
He's pretty much an amazing doctor and cares so much about all of his patients!
{I really love him}

So they took me into the operating room at around 12:05 and got me on the table and then gave me my epidural which my doctor held my hand the whole time, so sweet he is.
As soon as that was over and they got me strapped to the table they let James come into the room.
Then they began the surgery.

The anesthesiologist was talking to me the whole time so the operation flew by and before I knew it they were telling me she was here.
It took her a minute to cry and they held her up over the sheet and I said, "oh she looks like Zane" and then they took her to go get her cleaned up so they could close me up.
About a minute later James brought her to see me and I couldn't get enough of that beautiful little face staring up at me.

Photobucket

 She was amazing!
They finished up my surgery
and then we all went back into our labor & delivery room to recover.
Trish let us have our family come back
and see us after we'd been there for an hour
and everything was looking good with both of us.
We hung out there until it was time to move us to our room...
which we got hooked up with one of the few big rooms that they have.
{It pays to have people in the hospital!}

So Dr. Warhus delivered Miss Lilah Maye at 12:34 PM
and she was 7 pounds 6 ounces and 21 inches long and it was my second favorite moment ever!

Biggest Loser Blogger Link: week #1

TheJavaMama

I decided that since my biggest "goal" for 2013 is to lose my baby weight
{plus about 30lbs more}
I'd link up with the Biggest Loser Blogger.
I am on Weight Watchers
{with James}
and I will be starting to work out again once my doctor has cleared me.
Not from having Lilah but I had surgery to have my gallbladder removed two weeks ago...
remember when I wrote this post?
Well I had to go get it taken out since Lilah is here now.
We really wanted to get it done before the end of the year so that insurance would cover the cost,
because surgery is EXPENSIVE!
{we did get it in before the end of the year}
I am so glad that it's over.
Also glad that I won't be having any more troubles with it.
So anyways back to the biggest loser blogger.

Starting weight:: 168

Goal weight:: 125

Basically I am going to being following the Weight Watchers program & exercising.
My exercising program is going to consist of doing a ton of walking since I have two littles
that's always an easy way to exercise
and I will also do some 30 Day Shred with Jillian Michaels
and I'll use our Wii Fit.
I am excited to link up because it is just one more way it will keep me accountable...
and you know we all need that!

Let's do this... 2013

Her mouth speaks from that which fills her heart. :: Luke 6:45
 This is my verse for the year what's yours?
My word of the year is learn.
Learn from others, learn from myself & learn from the world.
This is my year... Let's do this 2013!

Resolutions... I hate that word!

Photobucket

So instead of using that word I am going to use the word goal...
That word is much more achievable in my opinion.

Goals:
operation lose baby weight
learn to crochet
learn how to use my camera
have more play dates for the kids
blog a lot more

And that's pretty much it!
What are your goals/resolutions for 2013?
